***A word of caution: much of what you see here is logical guesswork on my part. Information on James and his son William has proven very difficult to unearth and even harder to piece together into a coherent whole. Here is what I actually know:

1) Following the Revolutionary War, a Bounty Land Grant of 50 acres was awarded to a James Flood in MD.

2) In 1815 James Flood received a land grant of 350 acres in Franklin Co, GA. (There was another grant of 150 acres; unfortunately, I failed to record the date in my research notes. I hope to correct this oversight soon.)

3) In June of 1816 there was a marriage in Franklin Co, GA, between Jesse AARON and Patsy FLOOD; her relationship to James is unknown, but I suspect she was his sister or his daughter. Jesse was Administrator of James FLOOD's estate in Nov 1819.

4) In May of 1820, William FLUD, "orphan," was bound out to William BAKER, a blacksmith. There is a record from Nov of 1821 which states that William FLUD, "minor son of James," was bound to James DUNIHOO.

5) John L. FLOOD, "orphan of James," was bound out to John HAMBY in Nov 1820.

6) There was also a Samuel FLOOD who appeared in the marriage records of Camden Co, GA, in Mar of 1827 (bride Rebecca GROVENSTEIN). It is possible that he was also related to the FLOODs of Franklin Co, but this idea is only speculation at this point in my research.
