From Mine To Yours'

This is a new page dedicated to my pets and your pets. (hence the title "from mine to yours'") As you can see right now I can only say the page is "from mine", is there anything you can do about this? :-) I will publish all stories I recieve (depending on what they include). A Word About Fostering Cats
About Fostering Cats Why do I have so many cats?? Part of the reason is people not getting their cats spayed or neutered. This is a great problem. Have you ever walked into an animal shelter? How ,many cats were there? Lots is most probably the answer. How many stray cats have you seen? Lots are around. All because people don't get their cats spayed or neutered! It's not that I don't love cats and don't want any around! It's just for the cats' sake! Ok , here's a little about foster cats. My family and I used to foster mother cats & their kittens. We still would if we could bring back every mother cat to the shelter to sit in a cage "doin' time" for no crime until she has stayed long enough to get "the shot". I don't have anything against shelters either , I'd rather see a cat in a shelter than on the street , a cold , hungry stray! Well , anyway , these mother cats need some place to get someone to care for them and their kittens. The shelter gives the cats to the foster people who feed them and give them the care they need. Believe me , it is really , really hard to say "goodbye" to the kitties! But Kittens get adopted real quickly. We kept our mother cats because we loved them to death! If you ever go to a shelter and get a cat , please , please get an older one. They are just as nice as kittens and have virtually no chance of getting adopted!!!
Sleepy
Sleepy is a white and tiger striped cat. His favorite thing to do is, well, sleep, although he does love to play with the other kitties. He likes to be outside in the sun also. He loves rubbing on other people and me. His best friend is Furrball, his mother is Kitkat. His human is me. The worst thing he ever did was pee on the floor in our dining room.

Shuger
Shuger is a black and white Welsch Border Collie. You may think that I'm real terrible at spelling "sugar", but that is not the case :-). That is the way her name is spelled. Shuger whimpers alot! She is about 12 years old now (1998). She loves to lay around the house, go for walks to the lake (or anywhere else), play with Smokey, and lay in the grass on a nice sunny day and see what the clouds look like. The worst thing she ever did was run away. Her human is me.

Boots
Boots is a black & white female cat. She was a stray. When we found her she was very skinny, her eyes were runny, and she was dirty, real dirty!!! Boots had something else "wrong" with her too, she has no teeth!!!! My family and I took Boots home and washed her up (she must have trusted me, it's the only time a cat has let me give it a bath!). Once she was all fed and washed up she turned out to be a really nice cat!! We later found out that her former owners had moved and left her (whether it was by choice, we don't know). She is now the happy envy the rest of her cat family because she gets the soft food! She is also one of the most friendly cats I've ever seen!!

Bear
Bear is a very, very strong, black cat. He looks like a bear, except for his tail. Bear is very wierd in a way. If he wants to be pet, he will purr and rub up a storm (of stray hairs *S*). The funny thing is that when he doesn't want to get pet....he seems like the most unfriendly cat at my house!!! The worst thing he ever did was pee on the carpet.

Smokey: roundest mutt around
Smokey is a "Dalmation", or at least he kind of looks like one. Well, he does look like a normal dalmation I guess. Except for one problem. He is FAT. He is the biggest, fattest Dalmation anyone who visits has ever seen. He is soo big some people mistake him for a pig-no joke! Why is he so fat? We don't know! He's on a diet now and has been for the last year or so. No improvement. So, he's the laughing stock of our family! The worst thing he ever did was poop on the floor.
