Easter Castle Adventure. For Kids only
It certainly was an ADVENTURE to remember as we first embarked on putting up this Easter special programme for children. What better time to have a celebreation and a programme than on Easter Day, where we can loudly sing and proclaim about the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. It was an ADVENTURE because we were holding the programme in Puchong, about 25KM from Gospel Assembly and arrangements had to be made to transport our children to go over there. Bless the heart of the parents, many did not seem to mind the journey and distance.
The ADVENTUROUS day finally arrived and the place is Tadika Kids Fun Castle, an artistic castle-design kindergarten run by Susan Tay.
We had a record number of children, about 70 in all, that turned up full force and dressed up for the occasion. Not to mention the parents too, who were eager to "peek in" on what's happening.
The ADVENTURE started off at around 10:00am with the children singing songs about GOd in english, B. Malaysia and Mandarin. And WOW!, the whole happ reverberated with oud shouts and praises. The next thing that happened was the act of getting them into "manageable" groups through a game. Then came the interesting part - a SKIT that was put together by a group of youths. The children roared with laughter at the hilarious antics and then listened attentively at the end about how Jesus took our punishments and forgave our sins. The children were also treated to a "mini gospel magic show" by yours truly. Who says it is kids stuff? The adults were also intently eyeing the tricks to see how it worked!
No children's programme would be complete without this - GAMES. It was an aDVENTUROUS finale as the children did a team relay telematch and went around hunting for Easter Eggs and secret alphabets.
Whew! Finally the Easter Castle Adventure had to come to an end. As the children helped themselves to the food and drinks, I could not help but notice the joy and happiness in their faces. Suffice to say, many children who have not heard about Jesus went away that day knowing that there is someone called Jesus who loves children, took all our punishment by dying on the cross and is alive again in 3 days. We are glad that we went to bear testimony to that fact.
