10 Wonderful testimonies from our baptismal candidates

I first learn about Christ through Angeline Ong, Angie Goh and Patricia Lee, they were also the one that pulled me to Gospel Assembly, I later learned more when Pastor Kelly was coaching me in basketball at my school.

I attended the church full time around September 1993 and then was baptised in the holy spirit in October. I wanted to be baptised in Water about a year later but because I wasn’t 21 years old yet and I have to get my parents permission, I decided against it because my parents does not know that I’m a Christian and that I wanted to be baptised. Now I am 22 and have decided to tell people that I’m a christian and that I’m ready. That’s how I got here and got baptised.

I wish to help let people know more about Christ but not sure how and I’d love to serve Christ in any way possible, one of the way I know is by creating this homepage which I hope will get people’s attention and get people aware of the truth.

I also wish that you all would help me pray for my family so that they’ll get saved.

I am Serene Lee. I came from a Christian family and was attending Church at a very young age. In spite of that I was not very strong in Christ and backslided after Form 5.

There were frequent calls from God to go back to His fold, but those calls were ignored. Life was not smooth flowing, things got tougher until 1990 and finally I heeded and returned to God.

I am glad to say that life has improved very much since then. God has even blessed the tuition I am giving and I have more students than I can cope. Relationship with my husband has improved but there is room for further improvement.

I am very happy with this Church which I found 1-1/2 years back and pray that I will continue to grow strong here in Christ.

Please pray for my husband. Thank You

My name is Derrick Kong. I am 47 years old and am a Life Insurance Agent with Berjaya Prudential Assurance Berhad in USJ Taipan, Subang Jaya. Life is very tough with the present financial crisis. I came to know Christ during my school days. I was educated in La Salle School, Sentul and St. John’s Institution, KL. After completing my form 5, I started working.

I came from a poor family. My father died of brain cancer when I was in Std. 6. My mother is a Buddhist and so was I.

One day, I went to Bro. Albert’s workshop to repair and service my car. It was there that he explained to me about Jesus and Salvation. We were having some discussion and argument and Bro. Danny Lok was there too. Finally, I accepted the Lord on 12th March 1998.

I would like to thank Bro. Albert for praying for me and my family and for bringing me to Christ. I would also like to thank my sister-in-law, Sis. Lilien ho and her daughter, Sis. May Choo, who witnessed my water Baptism. Thanks also goes to my wife, Lisa, daughter Michelle and son, William for their moral support and encouragement. Last but not least, I pray that God will bless all of us.

GOD is great! Amen.

I came to know God and Christ during my school days in Form 5 when I attended church with my school mates. My knowledge then was very basic and shallow and of course, I backslided and joined buddhism.

However, about 13 years ago, I began to see how God had changed my mother’s life. From being an uneducated housewife who could only read a few words from the chinese newspaper, she could already read the Bible in about a year after accepting Christ as her Saviour. This impressed me very much.

My mother suffered a setback about 6 years ago when she was diagnosed as suffering from Cancer. The doctor at the hospital gave her a 50:50 chance of survival. She underwent hysterectomy operation. She put her trust in God and her church members prayed for her constantly. In fact throughout her entire treatment, she was given about twenty dose of radiotherapy and a few dose of chemotherapy. During this period, she did not go bald or lose a lot of hair. That for me is a miracle. with God’s grace, she gained back her health and right up to this moment, I thank God for her good health.

When my husband accepted Christ two years ago, I was still very reluctant to go to Church with him as I could not accept their way of praying in tongues, which to me was very foreign. However, due to the persuasion and ‘threats’ of my children who would not attend Sunday School without me going to Church with them, I began to attend Church regularly. During this time, I still could not relate to God because I needed to feel his touch.

My prayers were answered during the last Church Camp in Cameroon Highlands in 1997 when I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the help of Sister Rosalind Too and a few other sisters.

To God be the Glory!

Many years ago, I was a young child going to Church and attending Sunday School almost every Sunday. I enjoyed the Bible stories and lessons, the games and fun, the songs and joys. However, there was something I did not quite like It was the memory verses which I needed to memorise week after week. I found this task trying and difficult. But, as I grew older, this task became lighter and easier and I finally understood the importance of knowing God’s word by heart.

I thank the Lord I had gone through all that. I also thank the Lord for giving me Christian parents as this has made things much easier. most of all, I thank God that I am His child and had just declared it by getting baptised.

I would like to thank God for saving me from sins through Jesus Christ at a young age. It was Sis. Sharon Chen, who initially brought me to Gospel Assembly of God. From then on, I began to grow spiritually in the Lord. Till today, I can still remain faithful in my walk with the Lord. Praise the Lord that I can take this stand in water-baptism, together with my beloved mother (Mrs. Chin) at Golden Sands, Port Dickson.

I am a fruit of missions, you may say. Back in the old days in the Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus’ School, I was brough up in love and kindness by faithful missionary sisters from Ireland. They devote their lives to the work of God; and preached a fantastic sermon of love in their lives. It was on my knees that I got to know about God intellectually; and subsequently, I came to acknowledge Him personally through Jesus.

Yet, It took me me more than 30 years to take this step forward to be baptised in His name, as commanded by the scriptures. Praise the Lord for His patience! Today, I come in obedience through faith by His Grace.

I know from now on, it is a long and winding road home. But I also know that God will be there with me every inch of the way; He knows just how much I can take. He will give me sufficient light to take the next step. Praise God!

I thank the Lord, my God that I can come with empty hands, with nothing to show and that all is made right at the foot of the cross.

Hallelujah, Praise God!

Teh Lee Tin (Mrs. Chin)

The Lor Jesus Christ was introduced to me by my mother at an early age of six. By age seven, I went to a church amed SEA Park Prebysterian in SS 2.

When I was twelve, I switched to another church (which is nearer to my home) that turned out to be encouraging in every aspect. I accepted the Lord into my heart on christmas day 1997, I was baptised in water on 7th April 1998 at Golden Sands, Port Dickson. Praise God!

I was born into a Christian family and attended Sunday School since I was a small child.I started attending Christ Ambassadors Services in 1996. I learnt a lot in the Church, camps, and my school’s C.F.

There are so many things to thank God for - his provision, family, friends, my baptism in water and etc.

But, most of all, I thank Him for being Who He is- a loving God.

I came from a Buddhist background. It was Bro. Albert Oh who first shared the Gospel with me and that was how I came to understand more about Chirsitianity. As I began to attend the Church’s Prayer Meetings, God showed me things like miraculous healings and showered His blessings, not only on others but on my family too. During one of these prayer meetings, I experienced and felt God’s presence so strongly that I found myelf speaking in tongues, after which, I was filled with peace and joy. This was indeed a new experience for me.

Recently, one Sunday morning as I was rushing home after buying breakfast for my family, one of my front tyres slipped into the drain. I tried to accelerate to bring up the tyre but was unsuccessful. Then, I sought God for help. I reversed my car to bring up the tyre and was successful this time. I praise and thank God that my prayer was answered.

My first Bible presented to me by Brother Albert has this scripture verse inscribe on it:

Matthew 6 : 33 - “But seek first His kingdom and righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well.”

Another verse which has been an encouragement to me is :

Colossians 3 : 23 - “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.”

Each time I come to Church, my intention is to worship God with an open heart, and an open mind and to allow God to lead in His ways, not man’s ways.

I thank God for His confirmation on this verse.

All praise be to God as He continues to bless my family and I

Bro. Danny Lok
