"A God of faithfulness and without injustice, Good and Upright is HE." These words in a song taken from Deuteronomy 32:4 describe so aptly of the God that we serve. He has been faithful to us since the beginning of time and He brings to pass one by one His promises that are there for us to claim. Each time God performs a miracle, it never fails to bring indescribable joy and encouragement to my heart and soul, and that was what happened on that evening of June 13, 1998.
A Singaporean Cantonese-speaking Pastor was to preach at our Church on tha Saturday evening. I was asked by a few of our Church members to try to attend his service and to bring someone along. So my dad and I decided to persuade my grandmother to attend. Through much persuasion and a little prayer (remember, prayer changes situations), my grandmother went for the meeting.
My grandmother is 86 years old and all her life, she has been worshipping idols, living under fear and superstitions. But that night, as the message was being preached, I believe God met her need and even as I whispered a silent prayer to God to touch her and bring enlightment of God's Word of Love and with truth to her, a miracle has once again taken place in our midst. What a wonderful God we serve!
The word has been preached to my grandmother many times. Prayers for her salvation were requested numerous times during the Wednesday Prayer Meeting but God saw it fit that my grandmother should choose to say the sinner's prayer on June 13, 1998. I am grateful to God for His grace that was extended to my grandmother and since then, her fears have been replaced by God's love and peace and joy which brings true contentment.
All Praise be to God!
