Westminster Abbey, London, England

Oliver Cromwell, his mother Elizabeth, his sister Jane Desborough, his niece Anne Fleetwood, and his favorite daughter Elizabeth Claypoole were all buried in the Henry VII Chapel. At the time of the Restoration of the monarchy, all were exhumed except for Elizabeth Claypoole. She still rests to the immediate left and to the front of the altar (as you are viewing it) under a plain black paving stone. It is much like that used for Charles II and other kings and queens who rest here. Her epitaph reads:

ELIZABETH CLAYPOOL

DAUGHTER OF OLIVER CROMWELL

1658
