I remember seeing Stranger everytime they came through Valdosta, Ga. Papa Joe's would be packed. I've got a photo album with pictures of the band on stage and I've still got thier first album on vinyl. Two hands with the eyes in the palms cover. I need to find someone with a turntable so I can get a copy on tape to listen to....

The first time I saw Stranger, I was a very young, naive, inexperienced 19 year old. A new friend from college said, you have to come with us, its Saturday. I asked her what she meant and she simply said Stranger, its Saturday, we have to go see Strange . HELLO! 19th Street Mining Company, Mark Twain, Crown Liquor Lounge, all of those horrid places were heaven on earth. Thank you Stranger band, you entertained, educated, and liberated me. Thank you for showing me life. So much more to it than what's n the surface.....

favorite stranger song: A Romeo song called Crybaby, and too many other Stranger songs to name

Comments:
I first became hooked when a friend and I were out looking for a new place to go. We ended up at this place called Agora Ballroom in Tampa. The band playing was called Romeo and from the very first moment I saw them, I was hooked! Since that night, I i troduced all of my friends to them and we used to travel everywhere to see them, Tampa, Daytona, Bradenton, Gainesville, Ormond Beach. Ronnie was always my favorite. My mom and dad, who had never seen them in person, but knew about them and knew their m sic from hearing it in my room, just happened to be staying in the same hotel one weekend as the band was in Daytona. They saw Ronnie one afternoon and approached him, introduced themselves, showing him a picture of me so that he would know the connectio . He was so nice to them! Put my mom and dad on the guest list at the Texan that nite and my mom and dad actually went and partied with the band!! Needless to say I couldn't believe it until I saw the pictures!! The first one they showed me was a pict re of Ronnie standing there with his arm around my mom!!! So cool!!! He made quite an impression on my mom! From then on, whenever we saw Ronnie, he always asked about them. I was heartbroken the morning I heard what happened. In a way, as I think alot of people who followed the band feel, when he died, it ended an era. He will always hold a special place in my heart.

He was an awsome guitar player and the greatest brother anyone could ever dream of havi g. I miss him dearly, and not a day that goes by, that I don't think of him. When he use to come home, he would come over and we would Jam together, I play the drums and he would rock out my family room!!! I wish I could get his first albumn back, someon stole it out of my house and it was my favorite. But they can't steal my Love and memories that I have in my heart for Ronnie. I thank each and everyone of you who wrote something nice about him. He is with JESUS now, and I can't wait to see him again!! ! God Bless you ALL!!! Tammy

I first saw Stranger (formerally-Romeo) open for Triumph, and Saxon at the bayfront auditorium. Stranger ripped them up,in my eyes... i was a aspiring guitarist, just in a new band .... all i remember was Jackies so bad !!!! that melodic riff!! Our drummer bought the VERY first album, i borrowwed it...."nobody is gonna treat me like a fool".. Man did Ronnie rip that solo !!! he has so much natural rhythm , in-born melody!! I voted him the best guitarist to guitar world for 2 years!!!My band did many stanger songs through our high school years, and we seen them every chance we could, adventure island...even a skaking rink- astro!!!! Its been 15 years - im married-half grown kids, im heavy into home recording... I couldn't posibly give just one stoyr. Being a "groupie" as people lovingly liked to call us, I was always there, up front in front of Ronnie. This grew into friendships which I truly cherish. Road trips around the state and Georgia were always a blas ! I made many friends with other fans! Greg drinking an entire bottle of Wild Turkey, Ronnie using the bottle to play his guitar, I'm am truly thankful for ALL my memories!

favorite stranger song: Let me Rock n Roll....and about everyone ever written!!!

Comments:
SRV, MALMSTEIN, VAI, EDDIE, Who are these guys????? There was only one Guitar hero for me, Ronnie Garvin!! He was the heart and soul of the Stranger band. Seeing the band as many times as I had the pleasure of doing, I can say that no one loved the guitar the way Ronnie did. I can still see the smile and wink, and does everyone have a fender pick with a bite mark in it? I dedicate my music and playing to him. Sitting around and crankin' up one of the Stranger CD's is always my way of preparing for a night of Rock n Roll! May Ronnie's memory live on forever. ps. Thanks for the site!!!!!!!
