ESTELLE RANGEN'S LETTER ABOUT KXEI, the Network of Praise
October 3, 1998. Dearly Beloved,
The After Glow"
Enjoy with us the "After Glow" of STANDING IN THE GAP, responding to OUR NETWORK OF PRAISE, which is our Christian Radio Station (KXEI) which comes each day from Havre, Mt. (or from Helena, Great Falls, or Plains...many reach the 24 hour station by Translators, such as Cut Bank, Glasgow, Lewistown, Choteau, Shelby, Lustre, Phillipsburg, Deer Lodge, and Butte, all of Montana!) In time they hope to reach the entire state of Montana [a state as big as much of Northern Europe], besides a great part of Canada, nearest the border. A Board from Canada and Montana runs the station as to decisions, staff, and prayer. Four full-time workers are on the staff. Ed Matter is the Station Manager, and our Paul (Rangen) is the Assistant Manager. There are three part-time workers.
The Sharathon's Three Short Days
Monday through Wednesday, Sept. 14-6, '98 were the announced dates of the Sharathon this year, as it has been in previous years...three days! They hire three dedicated Christian men to come for these three days to present the cause and ask for contributions towards the Goal...which was $270,000 this year. Three days...can we (they) make it? Doubts come, but TRUST IS IN THE LORD.
Did We Hear Right?
Lo, and behold, these men decided to take the whole first day from 6 am to 9pm to GIVE PRAISE TO GOD FOR HIS FAITHFULNESS AND BLESSINGS! What, did we hear right? That's just what they did! People called in and shared...not complain, but blessing God for His faithfulness, in their lives and daily experience, interspersed by beautiful, meaningful music! What a Day...full of giving Praise to God!
ONE DAY GONE, ONLY TWO LEFT TO MAKE THE GOAL!
What suspense for us listeners the second day...did they do right? Will they have time to receive the calls from the listening audience? Tears were shed as we listened. People had reviewed God's blessings to them...now they were giving! By around three the third day, they had already received the entire Sharathon goal of $270,000!
KXEI's Cup Runneth Over!
Did they quit then? No way! They encouraged listeners to send towards a $40,000 need in updating the equipment of the radio station, and $18,000 came in by the 6 pm deadline!
67% Surveyed Said: No Absolute Truth
We were blessed by the letter of recognition to our gift to the station. The statement: "KXEI exists and can continue to broadcast the Truth of God's Word! Truth! Where has it gone in our country? How about right and Wrong? Are there any moral absolutes? Judges 17:6 reflects the current trend in our country, "Everyone did what was right in HIS OWN eyes." Even Solomon struggled with the true meaning of life, yet as he evaluated his confusion he found that he could not honestly deny that even the seasons of life seemed to have lasting purpose and beauty. Solomon remembered the One in whose likeness he was created (Eccl. 12:13-14). Barna Research Group reports that in 1991, 67 per cent of all adults agreed that there is no such thing as absolute truth. These figures include religious leaders as well as lay people." They concluded with: "In a RBC Ministries booklet, Martin DeHaan II states, 'A risen Christ is the answer for the fears of a multi-cutural world. Because Jesus rose from the dead, we can believe in absolute principles of morality rooted in the character of God.'"
See What God Has Done!
Souls have been made right with God through the ministry of Montana's Christian radio...truckers...prisoners...listeners from many walks of life: Miracles of salvation...miracles of growing in grace...miracles of discipling by the grace of God! See what God has done, all since July 28.
PVF...An On-Going Saga on the Web!
Estelle's oldest Sister Pearl Ginther's son, Ronald Ginther writes: "The gift of writing runs all through the Stadems, I believe. They had the godly spark and urge to make a record, which scripture says we should do, that will show the glorious acts of God to this generation and to generations following. They obeyed the scriptures in this, and so we are able to pour out this treasury now unto the world through the Internet in the PLAIN VIEW FARM website...(www.geocities.com/plainviewfarm/)." It's the "On-Going Saga of a Norwegian Family on the Dakota Prairie". Pearl's son Ron, also has put PVF on "search engines" registers, over 30 of them, so that people can be directed to the family heritage PVF has to offer. Catch ya at the web..."J" & "E"
