TRIBUTE
TO MOUNTAIN VIEW CHAPEL PRESERVATION PROJECT AND ITS SUPPORTERS
THE CHAPEL OF MT VIEW LUTHERAN
CHURCH
Fully Restored Mt. View Chapel! Oil Painting by Richard Weathermon,
Sumner, Washington 98390
ALSO TO YOU, MRS. GINTHER, MOTHER, GREAT-GRANDMOTHER, AND GRAND-MOTHER, AND FRIEND OF ALL, THIS TRIBUTE IS GIVEN!
Son Jerry Ginther's tribute to his mother:
"Here is to the chapel and also to you my
mother
who gave birth to
me when you were 43 years old, and had me baptised
at Mountain View
with the Egges and Johnsons standing up for me. Here
is my thanks to
both you my mother and the chapel where I was raised
to
love the Lord. You, mother, brought me to attend
both
Sunday Church and Sunday School until I was an adult. There
are
times that my heart longs for those simpler times
spent in
that building once our Church, but now our chapel.
When I fell away from Grace
your
prayers brought me back, along with what was learned of
God's word
within those hallowed walls. A mother's love covers a
multitude of sins and as the Bible says it was really
tested time after time with me. I have had to share
you
with seven other siblings, and many other people who
have
been given to you by the Lord to serve. Here at age
90
years old you are still busy with the Church
councils,
your quilting group, heritage group, Volunteer Chore group,
the women's church circle, garden club, Tacoma Seamen Center, many baby-sitting jobs, house
cleaning
jobs, house sitting jobs, visiting sick in hospitals,
visiting those in nursing homes, and still having
time to
be a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. I
have
truly been blessed to have you as my mom. I'm really
proud
of you!"
"I KNOW THAT YOUR OTHER
CHILDREN All Join Me, Your 'Baby' Of 46, In Thanking The
LORD JESUS CHRIST For Being Able To Have You As Our
MOTHER. Plus We Join You In Keeping The Building
Known Now As The Chapel Alive For Future Generations.
TO US IT IS THE CHURCH OF OUR YOUTH, AND THE CHURCH HOME THAT YOUR
HUSBAND (FATHER OF THE OLDEST SEVEN), ROBERT GINTHER,
FOUND FOR THE FAMILY."--Your Son, Jerry Ginther
MOUNTAIN VIEW LUTHERAN
CHURCH'S
72 YEAR OLD CHAPEL
NEEDS MUCH PRAYER
FOR ITS RESTORATION
AND
ITS FUTURE USE
IN THE SERVICE OF THE LORD!
Saving and restoring the old Chapel is
a
unique learning experience by
which
the Lord stretches faith in all
concerned
to grasp the larger
picture,
which in this case includes
possibly
generations to come.
Even if the Chapel should not
be
preserved physically,
The "faith capital"
built up by all
endeavoring to save the
Chapel
will not be lost
but will enrich them
in many ways that change
lives for Christ
for years to come.
Faith is the Pilgrim-
walk to the Promised Land
of God's blessings for His
children.
Doubt or unbelief leaves
a person stranded in the
wilderness
of a wasted, misdirected
life.
Exercising faith for God's
glory
and the benefit of others
cannot fail to win what God
wants for us.--Ronald Ginther
NEWS! GOOD NEWS! PRAISE GOD, WE HAVE GOD'S
VICTORY
IN THIS VENTURE OF
FAITH--NEWS
CAME TO PEARL GINTHER
ON FRIDAY NIGHT, OCT. 2,
1998
THAT THE $200,799 NEEDED
HAS COME IN! WE WANT TO
THANK
ALL THOSE WHO PRAYED AND
WHO PLAYED A ROLE OF GIVING
THEIR TIME, MONEY,
MORAL SUPPORT,
AND
ESPECIALLY THEIR PRAYERS
TOWARD THIS WORK OF THE
LORD.
Word came by phone that two truckdrivers walked in the last day, after just hearing of the project on the radio, and laid down the almost twenty thousand dollars needed to complete the sum before the deadline the next day! This true miracle of God was needed to make up this amount. Thanks be to God who touched the hearts of two non-members of the church, two strangers out on the road driving their trucks! May they be greatly blessed by God!
I ALSO ESPECIALLY THANK OUR FAMILY FRIEND
ODNEY WISE, HEAD OF THE HERITAGE CHAPEL
COMMITTEE
OF MT. VIEW LUTHERAN
CHURCH,
AND
MY MOTHER PEARL GINTHER--Jerry Ginther
WE ALSO THANK OUR FRIENDS WHO JOINED US
IN PRAYER FOR THIS UNIQUE AND PRECIOUS
CHAPEL HOLDING SO MUCH FAMILY, CHURCH, AND COMMUNITY
HERITAGE.
IN CHRIST'S WONDERFUL NAME
AMEN AND AMEN!!!
