born April 6, 1918. She was the daughter of Henry Benjamin Israel and Celia
Alma Freeman. She married
Bruce Auldon Blanton on October 22, 1933. They had seven children. (click

David Israel was the son of John
Israel and Maulsey Hester.
John Israel was born June 16, 1795
and died April 5, 1865.
Maulsey Hester was born May 5, 1814 and died April
4 1885.
Maulsey Hester was the daughter of Joseph and Mary Hester
John had 14 children by three wives.
He was a private in the War of
1812, under Captain Isaac Sullivan, N.C. Regiment. He served as a substitute
for one James McKay from Sept 1, 1813 to Jan 19, 1814.
His widow Maulsey applied for a
War of 1812 widow pension on April 24, 1878. On November 21, 1878 it
was approved, and the award read "Admitted Oct 18, 1878, to a pension of
eight dollars a month from March 9, 1878."
John was 6 feet tall, with black
hair and blue eyes. He had a fair complexion.
In July 1839, he paid Robeson County,N.C.
taxes in the amount of $1.87 for the year of 1838.
In 1854, he paid $3.94.
In those days you paid taxes to the Sheriff of the county.
John's first wife was named Celia
Phillips.(born ? ,died Jan 6, 1827) They had 3 children.

born Sept. 14 1825 ,and Jepe was still born Jan. 6 1827, apparently the
mother (Celia Phillips)died in childbirth because she died on Jan. 6 1827
also.
John's 2nd wife was Anna Phillips.
they were married March 10, 1827. They had 5 children.

John's 3rd wife was
Maulsey Hester.
They were married Jan. 21, 1836 in Bladen
Co. N.C.
They had 6 children.
Lott
born Feb. 24, 1837 died in the Civil War at Camp Mangum,N.C. May 7, 1862.
Mary Jane born Jan 13, 1839.
Elizabeth born Nov. 8 1840.
Henry
born May 21, 1842 died in the Civil War at Rheams Station Va. Aug 26, 1864.

Lemuel Israel
John Israel was the son of Lemuel
Israel and Olive Regan.
Lemuel was probably born around
1760 and died Feb 26, 1853.
Olive Regan was the daughter of
Richard Regan, a Second Lieutenant in the Revolutionary War.
We do not know if they had any
other children besides John, who was born 1795.
Warren Branch heard this a long
time ago: "In 1752, the five Israel brothers(names unknown) came to the
new world from England. One had a musket loader marked LONDON, ENGLAND.
1750.
After they arrived in this country,
they apperently decided to leave each other. One went up North; Two walked
to Georgia; One went to Texas, and one stayed in North Carolina."
Lemuel was probably the son of
the one who stayed in North Carolina.

was born Sept. 30 1911. He was the son of George Robert Blanton and Nancy
Shelley . He married Myrtle Elise Israel Oct. 22, 1933. They had 7 Children.

Fern, and Jean.
