In our family there are two types of primates, non-human and human.
We found Buddy in Texas as a girl had purchased him without much thought and found he could and would inflict a good bite on her children, as well as herself. She wanted to sell him and I wanted a little monkey and took him. From that time on our life has changed as well as the lives of our friends and relatives. Buddy is a captivating, loving and really smart little creature, he is 9 months old now and growing like a weed. He still sleeps with us, eats with us and goes to the movies with us. His favorite place is the local Dairy Queen where he gets to talk to all the kids there and steal ice cream cones. While Buddy, Teddy and Shorty have added to our lives it is doubtful that we can ever fulfill their needs as a species. I would not like to think that I would have to live forever with nothing but monkeys, no one to speak my language, no one to understand my needs and certainly no one to raise my own family with. That is what we have as humans with primate pets have sentenced our little relatives to.
Buddy has some relatives that live with us also. There is shorty, and Teddy both Red Handed Tamarins. They all get along well as long as shorty can boss everyone around.
