Dear Dad: There are lots of us in Mom's neighborhood. I saw a couple of girls yesterday. One's name is Patches. She looks a little like me but Mom said she was a cocker spaniel mix. The other two aren't so cute. One's real long, like a hot dog. The other looks like a dog I saw on TV once chasing a rabbit. Then, two yards down is a great big dog. I think Mom said he's a Rottweiler. He seems a little mean but Mackie likes to torment him outside his fence. I told Mackie to watch out because that big dog could jump the fence like nothing. But he won't listen. Oh, yeah. Across the alley are three yappy things. I don't know what they are, but it looks like they each got punched in the nose. I can't imagine why. And down from Grandma's house are two guys who have their very own houses. Little houses like our big one, only without doors. They're pretty mean, too. Mackie doesn't like them at all, so I guess I don't either. And we really don't like their humans because they're mean to their dogs. So maybe that's why the dogs are anti-social. Too bad. I think I'd like to get to know Patches, so I told Mom, but she just laughed and said something about her being "spayed." Does that mean she's engaged or something? Just wondering. Talk to you later.
