What a wonderful thing it would be to see the history of you family -generation after generation- from the beginning of time: their names; where they lived; what they did; what difficulties and challenges they had to overcome. Among them you might find princes and paupers, heroes and great leaders, or humble men with virtuous dreams; glories you never knew were part of you family heritage. The institution of the family has always been one of the great strengths of society. But it has never been without its challenges: from war, disease, economic hardship, divorce, even death; an outside plunderers who have taken land, homes, possessions, children and spouses. Even whole families and nations have been put into bondage!

Not all of us have had the benefit of the nurturing, growth, and love a core family can provide. Many individuals have had less traditional starts in life and have found nurturing and growth in often difficult situations, including orphanages and single parent homes, providing that the concept of family should never be narrowly defined. Those of us who have family around us should count our blessings. What we too often forget, but should always remember, is that we are all members of one family of man. We are all born out of a legacy of thousands of generations. If we choose to find that legacy within ourselves, we can be the strength, the leaders, the dreamers; the ones that inspire greatness in others. These are all gifts we can give our families and the world. When history looks back at you, what glory will it see?

I am the daughter of Leman and Bergetta. Although I did not have the pleasure of knowing my father. I was lucky enough to find my family on the internet. Now I have the enjoyment of getting to know my new found family and learn all about my roots. My roots come from Alabama and Wisconsin.
