The other day Tom McDaniel came across this picture entitled REBEL TROOP TRAIN. It is a badly faded photo postcard numbered 1141. That is its only identification.
Two of the cattle cars are from the Rock Island and the gondola carries the letters E. P. & S. R. Some of the men in the gon appear to be wearing sombreros. Do you think that the picture might have been snapped during a Mexican Revolution? If so, where? And when? Any info you web surfers pass along will be appreciated. Thanks.
George S. Bangs (1826-1877) invented the railway mail car, a likeness of which appears on his grave stone in Chicago's Rosehill Cemetery.
