If you are a regular visitor to our site, you know our pets include two cocker spaniels, Miss Lady Francescia and Mister Samson Desi, age 7 and 6. They're spoiled rotten and have the run of the house - literally! Words cannot describe the happiness they have brought to our lives, and as we snuggle into bed every night with them, their tails (however short they may be) are sure "telltail" signs that every day can have a happy ending!
This page is dedicated to our pets at home but also Peetie, a wonderful little parakeet that we lost on July 4, 1998, after 7.5 years. He was a little blue wonder who learned to talk and kept me laughing with his constant chatter and questions like, "Whataya doin?". Life without Peetie has been extremely hard for he comforted me endless times and brought a smile to my face when I thought no one else could. He loved his "free time" - flying around the room and landing on your shoulder, nuzzling your neck and nibbling your ear, but he also loved the security of his cage where his favorite toy was his mirror (he was so handsome and sooooooo vain!) and his favorite treat was his millet. He sits on the Master's shoulder now, but I know He is enjoying the songs and the chatter He put in his little heart.
It was the carol of a bird; It ceased, and then it came again, The sweetest song ear ever heard. ~ Lord Byron Please make very day Pet Day in your house. Pets rely on us for everything and are completely dependent on us. Please make them one of the family. Talk to them every day, give them a hug if possible, rub their belly, and tell them you love them every day. They may not understand the words, but they will see the love in your eyes, and the sound of your own words will comfort you. Their endless love and devotion will be one of your life's greatest gifts.
Two trusting eyes that never fail, A bit of fluff - an outstretched paw, Real loyalty - without a flaw; And though the price was small would seem, He came equipped with shining dreams.
I bought a pup, a tiny life,
He changes not though I may frown,
The price I paid was small indeed ~ Garnett Ann Schultz
