Take Time

Take time to think ~
it is the source of power.
Take time to play ~
it is the secret of perpetual youth.
Take time to read ~
it is the fountain of wisdom.
Take time to pray ~
it is the greatest power on earth.
Take time to love and be loved ~
it is a God-given privilege.
Take time to be friendly ~
it is the road to happiness.
Take time to laugh ~
it is the music of the soul.
Take time to give ~
it is too short a day to be selfish.
Take time to work ~
it is the price of success.
Take time to do charity ~
it is the key to heaven.

~~ Remember Me ~~

Remember me and bear in mind
A faithful friend is hard to find.
And when you find one good and true,
Change not the old one for the new.

When we look at what we want
and then compare that with what we have,
we shall be unhappy.
When we think of what we deserve,
then of what we have,
we shall thank God.

Time Is . . .

Too slow for those who wait,
Too swift for those who fear,
Too long for those who rejoice,
But for those we love . . .
Time is Eternity.

~~ No Time ~~

I knelt to pray but not for long
I had too much to do.
Must hurry off and get to work
for bills would soon be due.
And as I said a hurried prayer,
I jumped up from my knee.
My Christian duty now was done.
My soul could be at ease.
All through the day I had no time
To speak a word of cheer.
No time to speak of Christ to friend,
They'd laugh at me I feared.
No time - no time - too much to do.
That was my constant cry.
No time to give to those in need.
At last . . . my time to die.
And when before the Lord I came,
I stood with downcast eyes.
Within his hand he held a book
It was the BOOK OF LIFE.
He looked in the BOOK and said,
"Your name I cannot find."
"I once was going to write it down,
But never found the time."

The measure of a man's real character
is what he would do if he would never be found out.

He who prepares for this life
and takes no thought of eternity,
is wise for a moment . . . but a fool forever.

~~ Memories ~~

The little things that happen
Are tucked into your mind.
And come again to greet you
(Or most of them, you'll find).

Through many little doorways,
Of which you keep the keys,
They crowd into your thinking ~
We call them memories.

But some of them are rovers.
And wonder off and get
So lost, the keys grow rusty
And that means ~ you forget.

But some stay ever near you,
You'll find they never rove ~
The keys are always shining ~
Those are the things you love.

~ Marjorie Wilson ~

A man's reach should exceed his grasp ~
or what's a heaven for?

~ Robert Browning ~

Confidence, like art,
never comes from having all the answers;
it comes from being open to all the questions.

~ Anne Morrow Lindbergh ~

No love, no friendship,
can cross the path of our destiny
without leaving some mark on it forever.

Nothing the heart gives away is gone ~
It is kept in the hearts of others.

Kindess is a language
that the deaf can hear
and the blind can see.

What lies behind us,
and what lies before us
are tiny matters,
compared to what lies within us.

~ Ralph Waldo Emerson ~

Life is not the days that have passed
but the days you remember.

You never really leave a place you love ~
part of it you take with you
leaving a part of yourself behind.

~~ Passion ~~

There are many things in life that will catch your eyes,
but only a few will catch your heart ~ pursue those.
