Lobsters cooking under island stars, Warm breeze tick-le-ing my nose, Yule tide carols being sung in beach bars, Folks in shoes with open toes. I don't need cold weather or a drift of snow, Just to make the season bright. Want to be... where my suntan can grow, And walk an island beach tonight. Even Santa wants to stay He'll leave his big, red, heavy coat out on the sleigh. And on Christmas Eve... I'd scuba dive. Until the bar-b-que at five. "Yes, Virginia, There Is A Santa Claus" In 1897, a little girl named Virginia asked her father whether or not Santa Claus really exists. He told her to write to the local newspaper, the New York Sun. This is what she wrote: Dear Editor: I am eight years old. Some of my little friends say that there is no Santa Claus. Papa says, "If you see it in the Sun it's so." Please tell me the truth, is there a Santa Claus? Here is the answer from the Sun: Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy! Alas! How dreary would be the world if there were no Santa Claus. It would be as dreary as if there were no Virginias... he will continue to make glad the heart of childhood.
