What a Beautiful website! I accidentally came upon it while I was looking for "Stauffer" information. I had really not paid much attention to the fact that some Stauffers became Stovers while still in Pennsylvania. It was really a surprise to see some very familiar names in your genealogy! I must explain that, following his ordination in 1955, my husband (Rev. Edgar W. Shelly, Jr.) and I moved to Aaronsburg in Centre County, where he served the five-church Aaro sburg Charge of the Evangelical and Reformed Church until October of 1958. While there, we had our car serviced by Victor Stover and his son, Billy. Victor's wife - I believe her name was "Mary" - was very kind to me, especially after our daughter was b rn in 1955. We bought our first lawnmower from Albert Stover, who owned the hardware store in Milheim. We lived next door to Lowell Stover and his wife on the main street of Aaronsburg (Rt. 45). There were many more Stovers whom we knew; and there was lso Stover Rossman and his wife Jean, who kept up our acquaintance long after we moved to Ohio.

I am the oldest grandson of Horace Benjamin Stover Sr. b:8/6/1923 who is the son of Jayhugh Chastain Stover. I am told by my family that we are somehow linked to the Sarah Boone line of Stovers but as I am an amatuer at geneaology I have not been able to establigh a link. I am not sure about the spelling of Jayhugh but I do know that he had 2 wives and at least 10 children and he lived most if not all of his life in Georgia. He died around 1935. I'm a descendant of Christopher Stover who settled in Wyandot county, Ohio about 1825. Christopher was married to Sarah Whitefall and he served in the US armed forces in the War of 1812. Ashford Stover, my great, great grandfather, was born in Virginia. I believe at least some of his brothers in sisters were born there and in Pennsylvania.
