Franklin Co. Va Feb 1798
In the name of God, Amen. I, Henry Stover of Franklin County am sick and weak in body though of Perfect mind and memory, thanks be given to God for his mercied, calling to mind the mortality of man; and that it is appointed for all men once to die, this my last Will and Testament. First of all and Principally, I recommend my soul in the Hands of Almighty God who gave it, and my body to the Earth ot be buried in a Christian Manner. Touching these worldly goods wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I dispose of them all in manner following -First, I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife, Anna, Peaceable Possession in the house wherein I now live during her life time, also one cow her choice, among my cattle, her own bed, also ten bushels of good wheat, one hundred pounds of merchatable pork and ten pounds of Hackled Flax and one gallon whiskey and firewood brought to her door during her life time wout of may Estate yearly. I give unto my son, John , all my land which I possess and all my other moveable stocks to him and heirs forever provided always and in particular in this case that he shall pay all my just debts in one years times after m decease and as my two sons, Christian and Henry are not capable to provide for tehmselves he shall find for themselves sufficient house, room and clothing and other necessities as long as they live and they shall help him to work as long as they are able and he, my said son, John, shall pay out of my estate to each of my other four dear children, namely Jacob, Mary , Magdalena, and Christina, twenty shillings to each within ten years after my decease and I appoint my beloved friend, Jacob Kingery and Thomas Payne to be my lawful Executors of this my last will and testament and I herby overthrow all wills here before made by me declaring this to be my lase will and testament and no other wherunto I have set my hand and seal this Eleventh day of January 1798.
