for the people,
and the hills justice.

Welcome To The Mountains

And A Look Toward The Sun Set

From Appalachia and To Whom These presents Shall Come, Greeting: You've reached deep within "the mountains", in the south eastern coalfields of the Cumberland Plateau. A region of ridges and valleys where roots run deep. And Kentucky's eastern boundary to the states of Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. People of the mountains are surviving regardless of the hardship that comes their way in every day living. From time immemorial native peoples of Appalachia and the settlers who came thereafter learned the ways of the outdoorsmen and were not enemies of this land nor of the poor folk.
  • they loved these hills, hollows, valleys and the variety of vegetation that grows here and the animals that make the mountains their home.
  • enjoyed clean running streams
  • fresh mountain air
  • cared for their kin and friends
  • and worshiped God.
This land; sky; water, plants, animals and people are expressions and revelations of God's work and word of creation. The revelation of these Appalachian Mountains and all its splendor reveals:
  • Valleys and coves
  • ridges and hollows
  • sky and forest
  • soil and rocks
  • springs, creeks, rivers
  • animals, birds and plants.
