John Wallingford

John Wallingford's will is dated 9 Mar 1761. In it, he left a mare to his nephew James Wallingford (the son of his brother James). The remainder of his estate he left to his brother James and his heirs. On 25 Mar 1761, James Wallingford (Sr) appeared in court in Prince George's County, MD. Along with Edward Perry, James was bound to the proprietor of the Maryland colony as administrator of John Wallingford's estate. These two documents reveal some very important clues regarding John Wallingford. First, John died sometime between 9 Mar 1761 (the date he wrote his will) and 25 Mar 1761 (the date James paid the administrator's bond for the estate). Secondly, John left everything to James and his family. John must not have left any heirs of his own. Either they were all dead, or he never had any.
