Dear Classmates,
Here are some emails I’ve gotten that may be of interest to some of you. I have edited out some info out that didn’t interest all of you in the interest of space.
4/10/2000 from Millie George
Hey stef,
You might want to check out a website sent to me by a friend the other
day. It has all the high schools in the states and classes on it. http://.highschoolalumni.com .I put my name on it in case anyone out there is looking for us. HOPE!
Doug and I have been living in Ovilla for 3˝ years, since our home in
DeSoto burned down. We are 15 minutes south of Dallas, so we have the best of both worlds. Large Cosmopolitan city to shop and play and live in the country with a horse ranch backing up to my backyard fence. We still own a touring company and haul mostly entertainers, to their concerts. Doug will be leaving April 15th to go on tour with George Strait. He goes out with him every year. Most of the time he stays in the office and drives my son David nuts. HA! HA!
My son and his wife Dena and three boys live about three miles from us.
Needless to say they are my pride and joy. The oldest Danny will be 14
next week, Darren is 11 and Derek is 10.
I am no longer working at a paying job, but am President of a large womens’ club that coves all Dallas and Ellis county. We are in the process now of trying to put together a cookbook. I wrote a family cookbook last year, it was lots of work, but also very enjoyable and very rewarding. Seems like I stay busier now than when I was working. I have taken up Bridge and Mah Jongg and Bunko to play. I really enjoy them. Good God ! I've turned into my Mom!
We would love to see you if you ever get out this way, we have plenty of
room. We have a large apt attached to the house that we plan to use for
Mom when she is ready to move here. Which she says won't be for at least 8-9 more years. We'll see. Thank God she is in really great health.
Better go for now, I enjoy hearing from you. Larry Smith and Barb Cox
Hite are the only others I hear from.

My life is simple - still with the engineering firm and waiting to be a grandmother. Living in Overland Park since 1987. I only have a brother left in Salina & I try to get back to visit usually during the summer. The town is different every time I'm there.
My children are both living in this area - which is great for me. The only
schoolmate that I hear from often is Millie George (Burch) via e-mail
daily. I might even make an effort to attend the next reunion just to see her. Wonder when it is?
Thanks, Sally Saum (Kane)
6/7/2000 from Marva (Jody) Coltrain
Dear Stephanie;
I don't know if you remember me or not but we use to go to school at
Franklin elementary and then on to high school. Marva (Jody) Coltrain.
I got your address from Millie George Burch and she said you have a web page that has a lot of the kids we went to school with. I found Millie on the High School Alumni web page and I have been interested to see who all is still around. I keep in touch with Linda Hoover Woolverton Allen a few times a year and unfortunately, I have not been able to attend any of the class reunions but am planning on coming to the next one. Thanks for your help and hope to hear from you soon.

Dear Stef;
…all is well with us. We are having a stretch of HOT weather
lately. Not quite like Kansas but for here it is warm. It has been in the
high 80's and even low 90's and us northerners are not use to it. We are
planning a surprise birthday party for my brother who turns 50 this year.
Just a youngster, right? He has had some bad health problems lately so we
thought we would have a party for him as we felt he needed it. Well must
close for now. Hope all is well with you and your family. I will write
more later.
Have a safe Labor Day weekend.
Love

Hey guys! I know that I said that I wouldn't change my email address again but, you know, woman's perogative and all that! I have dropped the "my" and now can officially be known in your email address as kcrealtor@wantahouse.com. I'd sure like to hear from some of you to see that you got this and to know what is happening in your busy lives. Then I would forward it on to others who are also wanting to know if you're in jail, in love, in the tub or in-creasing in girth like me.
I am packing today for a cruise with my mom, her 1st cousin and 1st cousin's daughter. We have planned this for quite awhile and now the time is here! I have tried to clean things up at the office but you never know....last time the roof fell in, of course, but it was all fine in the end. I am NOT going to take my laptop and see if I can truly stay incommunicado for the week. Can I relax and GOOOOOOOO with it? I'll let you know!

Stef - Your e-mail arrived fine. Have a great trip. I have no exciting events in my life right now. I made a quick trip to Salina over the weekend to attend a wedding reception. A visit to COZY INN on the way out of town brought back many memories. The smell still lingers.

11/21/2001 from Barbara Hite
Happy Thanksgiving!! Ed is home for the holiday - hurray!! His brother is coming in for dinner - so I am having fun cooking all the goodies. Today in the middle of baking a pumpkin pie and a loaf of bread in my bread machine, the electricity went off for over 3 hours!! Fun fun!!! Always a challange! Ed is putting up Christmas lights and I am getting ready to go to work shortly. We have 1 show today and tomorrow nights then return to 2 a day - our next day off is Dec.10.
We wish everyone a blessed and wonderful Thanksgiving - we are thankful for so many things and especially our loved ones and friends.
Love

Stephanie:
Love the class web page you have come up with. It's great to see names of my classmates . Sure does bring back memories.
I would like to have you update the information on myself.
I am married and reside in Kansas City. My address is 4820 N. Brighton ave. Kansas City, Mo. 64119. My phone number is (816) 454-8719. My e-mail address is Maxielynn@aol.com. My wifes name is Lynn. I have been employed for the past 20 years with Emery Worldwide an overnite airfreight company. I see you are in the real estate biz. I will be visiting the web site often for updates and new classmates. I have never been back to a class reunion but plan on going to the next one. I will let you know if I hear of or have any new information on previous classmates.
Go mustangs!

Stephanie:
Don't mind at all if you forward my letter to other classmates. I would love to hear from them. I am trying to recall exactly where you lived there in Salina. I know it was relatively close to me.
I would love to know what Jerry Pixler is up to. He was pretty wild and got me into trouble a few times. I guess I was kind of wild myself. He had two brothers Phillip and Terry and I think one still lives in Salina.
I found out about your web site from my sister who lives in Lawrence. I don't know if you remember or not but she taught English and social studies at Roosevelt-Lincoln junior high when we went there. Her name was Marian Mathews then and is Marian Wilbur now.
Take care.

Hi Stephanie !!!!
Sorry I missed your phone call. Ironically, we were in Salina that
weekend visiting my step-mom and celebrating my aunt's 90th Birthday.
Your blast from the past was in addition to getting reacquainted with
my cousins from all over the country. Sure, you can use my husbands e-mail address and I'll look forward to seeing the web page.

2/6/2002 from Kenton Cross
Hi Stephanie,
49 years is a long time, I was just wondering if I should you my life
history after our graduation date?? I must admit that the first 9 years
was quite an experience. Like the old saying "BEEN THERE, DONE THAT"!Not to say that the last 40 were dull!
I am Kenton Cross, but I now go by my middle name which is Kelly.
The only classmate I have met since I returned to Kansas is Alan
Grigsby.
Thanks again,
Kelly Cross
