Carrie Lynn GAINES was born on 19 May 1988 in
Rockford, Winnebago Co., IL. She died of a tragic death in March
of 1990 in Rockford, Winnebago Co., IL., by the hands of a very
abusive man. She was finally buried on 28 Oct 1996 in Sunset
Memorial Gardens, Rockford, IL. Justice was finally served and
the responsible person is now doing life in prison without parole.

My beautiful baby girl has gone on home
she's up in Heaven, Gods land she now roams
running in Heaven, needs no shoes on her feet
Heavens rays now provide the rosiness in her cheeks
I can hear her laughter in the rustling leaves
& I can smell her hair in the light blowing breeze
I feel the comfort of her presense with me throuhout each day
telling me she wants me to be happy, it's all ok
today I can embrace life, she's taken me by the hand
it took a child to show me God forgives and understands.

I remember Carrie as the little chubby faced girl with the rosie cheeks. I wish I knew her better, but as life goes these days, we get so busy with our own lives. I only knew her for a very short time, and even then I knew she was a very special little girl.
Carrie, when you look down from heaven, I would personally
like to say, "I am sorry I didnt take the time to know you
better !!

Carrie, because of you, there is a special place named after you, It is called The Carrie Lynn Center. You touched the hearts of many people and now there is a place for children like you, in hopes they can make it through there lives. Love you baby girl.
