Augustus was the third child of Jordan William Kitts and grandson of Francis B. Kitts. He married Bettie Ann (LUTHER) and they had 7 children who where:
1. Augustus Andrew Kitts (9/13/1895 - 9/29/1938)
2. Clitis Jordan Kitts (1/26/1898 - 5/10/1976)
3. Nettie Jane (Kitts) ARMSTRONG (12/17/1900 - 2/21/1921)
4. Ishi Reu Kitts (7/10/1904 -2/21/1970)
5. Orville Francis Kitts (7/26/1907 - 10/2/1975)
6. Luther Williams Kitts (10/1/1910 - 1998?)
7. Earl Leland Kitts (3/8/1913 - 8/15/1982)
Augustus Monroe died in a Little Rock, AR. hospital of stomach cancer and his body was returned to Graves Co. KY for burial at Dobson Cemetery. Bettie Ann, his wife died two years prior to his death (12/17/1875-5/15/1916) in Amarillo, Texas(Potter Co.) and is also buried along side her husband in Dobson Cemetery. She was born in Cuba, KY(Graves Co.) a twin daughter of A.J. Luther. SPECIAL NOTE: Bettie's gravestone lists 12/14/1875-5/30/1916.

Augustus Andrew was born in Water Valley, KY and married Mary Douglas ARMSTRONG on 9/1/1917. He is buried in Little Rock, AR. at Pine Crest Cemetery.
Clitis Jordan was born in Water Valley, KY and married Polly Eli COCHRAN on 6/23/1928 in Amarillo(Potter Co.), Texas. Clitis died in Abiline, Texas and his body was returned to Little Rock, AR. for burial at Pine Crest Cemetery.
Nettie Jane was born in Water Valley, KY and married Quinton Straud ARMSTRONG. She is buried in Armstrong Springs, AR. in the Smurna Cemetery(no marker found)
Ishi Reu was born in Water Valley, KY. and had his name legally changed to Irving Richard while in the US NAVY. He was married twice. First to Elva Mae STEVENS in 1933 and second to Effie Grace PHILLIPS in 1942. Ishi(Irving) died in Tampa, FL. and was creamated.
Orville Francis was born in Clayton, NM and married Helen ROBERTS. He died in Weiser, Idaho and is buried at Hillcrest Cemetery in Weiser.
Luther Williams was born in Panhandle(Armstrong Co.)Texas and was married twice. His first wife was Jean (?) and his second was Pauline ROBERTS in 1942. Luther died in Arizona in 1998.
Earle Leland was born in Panhandle(Armstrong Co.)Texas and married Ruth Emelyn SHRODE on 9/15/1935 in Fayetteville, AR. He died in Horseshoe Bend, AR. and his body was returned to Little Rock, AR. for burial in Forest Hills Cemetery.
