I believe that good dogs come from good breeding and care. You can sculpt a good looking dog from a bad dog with a good coat, but good judges and breeders know better. I breed to the standard with an emphasis on structure and movement. The ancestors of this breed were sled pullers and herding dogs. Being bred down to toy size is no excuse for bad conformation that would lead to unsoundness and pain in any other working breed.
