~HELPFUL HOUSEHOLD HINTS

~~~~OK~~~~I have been thinking...what would be unique and yet at the same time useful for my home page ? ...Well came up with this idea, but will however, need some assistance from all who visit, to really make it work. We have all at one time or another read "HINTS FROM HELOISE" (most of us anyway); well I know we are all just as clever as "SHE", so lets prove it....I want to create our own little "HOMEPAGE HINTS"...something you have come up with on your own--be it household or personal etc. Bring it here so eveyone can share with you ! ! E-mail me with your suggestions at ~~ tookies@prodigy.net ~~ I will give you credit for all of your ideas. We can have a little fun as well as learn some "HELPFUL HOMEPAGE HINTS" . I will naturally start with my 1st helpful hint..
  1. this hint, could be today, for either a man or a woman..for those who have pierced ears and have little studs that always get misplaced or lost...just get a button and put the posts thru the button holes...when you go to look for them they are right there in the button!
  2. Getting Stains out of cotton garments~~Take about 1 teaspoon of soured milk and let it sit on stain for about 1/2 hour before washing,{submitted by Super Mom}
  3. Getting stains out of clothing--try, lemom juice; also for water stains on furniture try lemon juice.{Submitted by Freckles}
  4. Before using a new frying pan, boil some vinegar in it. This will help prevent food from sticking to the pan. Preheating a pan before adding oil or oleo will also reduce the chances of food sticking.{Unknown}
  5. If you are heading to the beach this summer,pack an empth mesh bag with your things. At the end of the day, put your seashells and beach toys in the bag, and dunk it is the water. This should help get rid of any unwanted sand.{Unknown}
  6. Wrap icecream cartons in aluminum foil before placing them in the freezer. The foil will help as an insulator, helping to lengthen the ice cream's shelf life.{Unknown}
  7. To bind two pieces of plastic pieces together, dab a little nail polish remover on each piece, and hold them together. The active ingredients in the nail polish remover will soften and dissolve the plastic, causing the two pieces to dry together as a single unit.{Unknown}
  8. A pasty mixture of backing soda and water can help take the itch out of a mosquito bite. It can also be a substitution for oven cleaner if you run out. Apply the mixture to a cool oven, and let it stand overnight. Then, clean the paste off with a plastic mesh sponge, ~not~ a scouring pad. Otherwise, you could scratch the oven's porcelain surface.
  9. Line the bottom of your flowerpots with packing peanuts. The lightweight peanuts will help reduce the weight of the pot and still allow water to drain.
  10. Keep tomatoes gardenfresh longer by storing them stem-side down. Contrary to popular myth, sunlight will not ripen tomatoes once they have been removed from the vine. Heat will, though, so any warm spot (even a shady one) will do.
  11. A handful of hay in a bucket of water will absorb the smell of fresh paint. Just stick it in a newly painted room overnight, and the smell should disappear.
    SO COME ON PEOPLE--SEND ME YOUR "HINTS" !
