My 2007 Book list and recommendations
Welcome to *MY book* page...
Here you will find a list of the books that I have read for the current year
My goal is too read 25 books or 5000 pages.
1. Weekend Warriors by Fern Michaels
Women who have been brutally abused or attacked by men and the legal system
take revenge upon those who wronged them. This is the first book in a
series of seven books. The women form a group called the sisterhood.
The groups first mission will keep you spell bound till the end.
2. Payback by Fern Michaels
Book 2 of the sisterhood series. In this second book the women are great
friends. They embark on their second mission with a vengeance.
A husband’s betrayal leaves one of the gals with a fatal illness.
The setting of Washington DC brings a new twist to the story.
3. Vendetta by Fern Michaels
Book 3 of 7. This book is perhaps the most suspenseful of all as the
matriarch of the story is the one whose revenge has come up. It is a quite
disturbing punishment but quite fitting for those who have lost a child.
Myra’s vengeance is perhaps the most looked forward too since the beginning
of the series, and the most suspenseful as the gals are now more like a family
than a group of women working together.
4. Jury by Fern Michaels
Book 4 of 7 The fourth part of the series turns
another corner. This time the adopted daughter of the matriarch is chosen.
She is undecided about her mission as she is the only one in the group who
hasn’t been wronged by the system. Her part in the team is the legal advisor.
Who and what will be her mission troubles her. Once her mission is decided an
unexpected twist causes the gals to have a new member unofficial member of the
sisterhood.
5.Sweet Revenge by Fern Michaels
Book 5 of 7 – In this adventure the sisterhood has a few problems. The mission
is all about a gal who had her business stolen from under her because of her
partner’s lies. The partner not only stole the business but also sent her into
a deep depression. As the gals seek revenge they make big mistakes that
threaten to expose the sisterhood.
6. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling-
Not a spoiler here! This book was EXCELLENT book!! With a Capital E…. A
mature Harry faces a whole new world and situations that put an unexpected
ending to a totally marvelous series.
7.The gift of Dyslexia by Ron Davis
This book explains all about Dyslexia. It goes into the problems associated
with the diagnosis and how the child develops this gift. If you know anyone
with this problem I whole heartedly recommend this book as a reference to
understanding. It is truly a gift to look at the world in a whole different
manner.
8. Lethal Justice by Fern Michaels -
Alexis was sent to prison by her corrupt partners at a brokerage house.
Alexis known to the sisterhood as the lady with the big red bag of tricks,
is a disguise expert. As a stock broker in her prior life she went to
prison for embezzling from accounts. Her partners used the money to become
rich at her expense. Her justice is sweet. A new wrinkle is now developing
for the sisterhood in the form of 2 reporters. The sisterhood now has a new
member as well. Full of excitement and twists! (reading now)
9. Overcoming dyslexia for Dummies by Tracey Woods
A wonderful instruction book for helping someone you love with dyslexia.
It tells you all you can do to help your child from testing to daily living.
10. Free Fall by Fern Michaels
A great ending to the sisterhood series or is it?
Free Fall is a masterpiece at gathering all the loose ends for the entire
7 book series. The ladies are avenging little Yoko’s mother.
This mission has all the markings of an impossible mission. It changes
a lot of things, New memembers, new dangers, new culture. I was a grabber
from beginning to end. Don’t look now but the sisterhood has more
novels coming in 2008. I am so happy!
11. Picture Perfect - By Fern Michaels
I read this one between books of the sisterhood. It was so good I still
remember. Here is the summary:
A 7yr old hemophiliac boy named Davey stumbles into a bad situation. His
controlling Mom Sarah finally (who's family appears picture perfect except)
finally lets him go on an adventure with her sister Lori. As a
Pediatrician Lori is prepared for Davey’s needs. When Davey disappears, Sarah
refuses to help find him or help as she is too busy taking care of her
hubby. The twists and turns keep you glued to the pages.
12. Jonathan’s Story – by Julia London
For anyone who is a Guiding Light fan this book doesn’t disappoint.
The story line of Jonathan Randall is closed by this book. He left his
life on the run from his baby’s great-grandfather. The rich
mogul great grandfather had all but kidnapped the baby from his
granddaughter. Jonathan hungers to put down roots and finds a quite
town he thinks is perfect.
The problem/blessing is he runs into a sheriff’s daughter with a
secret. Jonathan has to learn to share his life with someone else
and learn to let go of the
tragedy that of the past.
13. Plum Series... One for the money... just started.
