Will of ANDREW BROUGHTON
(written 01 June 1704 - proved 24 October 1734)

ANDREW BROUGHTON of the parish of St. George the Martyr in Queens Square in the county of Middlesex, being of a sound, perfect, and disposing mind and memory, do make and declare this my last will and testament in manner following, that is to say, first, I recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God, my Creator, trusting through the merits and intercession of my blessed Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ to receive remission of my sins and to enjoy eternal life and my body I commit to the earth to be privately and decently buried in the Parish church where I shall (?) unto and at the discretion of my executrix hereinafter named. My will also is that also just debts as shall by me owing at the time of my decease be fully paid and satisfied by my executrix in as short a time as conveniently may be. Item: I forgive release and discharge the Reverend Mr. THOMAS INETT of Worcester the sum of 200 pounds out of what he is indebted unto me, being the sum I promised to give him on his marriage with my niece INETT. Item: I give, devise, and bequeath unto my loving sister, CHRISTIANA BROUGHTON, who now lives with me, all my household furniture of every sort and fine silver as also my linen and woolen and all other my apparel whatsoever, and after my debts and funeral expenses are paid and satisfied, my will (Marginal Note - and desire) is that the rest, residue and remainder of my personal estate be divided into three equal parts or shares, and I do hereby give, devise and bequeath two of the said parts or shares after the same or so divided unto my said sister, CHRISTIANA BROUGHTON, and the other third part or share I give and bequeath unto my sister LYDIA BROUGHTON, and I do hereby make, constitute, and appoint my said sister , CHRISTIANA BROUGHTON, full and sole executrix of this, my last will and testament, desiring and requesting my good friend, Mr. BENJAMIN LONGNET and my nephew THOMAS DAYE to be ayding and assisting my said executrix in settling my accounts and collecting in my debts and all other matters wherein she may desire their aid and assistance. And I do hereby revoke all former wills by me made and declare this to be my only last will and testament. This Will was proved at London before the worshipful EDWARD KINASTON, Doctor of Laws and Surrogate of the Right Worshipful JOHN BETTESWORTH, also Doctor of Laws, Master Keep er or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury, lawfully constituted the twenty fourth day of October in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and thirty four by the Oath of CHRISTIANA BROUGHTON, spinster, the sister of the deceased and only executrix in the said will named, to whom administration was granted on all and singular the goods, chattels, and credits of the said deceased, being first sworn only to administer. 1
