Big News Today!
Wow! I can hardly believe it!
Today I became an official member of the Canine Clowns!
Yes, I'm a "Clown", and no longer will be known as "Ben the Foster Dog"! My mom Michelle came to visit over the weekend, and saw how happy I am here and, after much thought and many tears, decided that if Foster Mom and Foster Dad would have me, perhaps I should stay with them on a permanent basis. Well, they said "Yes" with no hesitation, so now "Vetters' Place" is my home.
I can't imagine a better place to live, with a big yard, lots of birds, squirrels and other critters to chase, three other dogs who love me and two wonderful humans who love me too! But I can't let this transition become "official" until I send this message to my "Mommy":
Dear Mommy,
I knew from the shaking in your voice and the tears on your
cheeks just how hard a decision it was for you to ask Cheryl
& Dave to adopt me. I know you wished out loud that you could
make me understand.
Well, Mommy, I do understand. I know that all the time I was in your care I had all the love and guidance that any dog could wish for. I always tried to do everything to please you, and you found many ways to let me know that I had succeeded. And I know, too, that you are only giving me up because there are things here in my new home that you might not be able to provide for a long time to come. I know, Mommy, that this is the most difficult and loving thing you have ever done for me, and I am grateful that you are putting my needs ahead of your own. There will never be a dog who has a better and more loving Mommy than you have always been to me.
I will try to thank you by being just as good for New Mom, New Dad, and being a good friend to the "Clowns". But in my heart, I will always carry the memory of my much loved "Mommy" and do everything I can in every doggy way I can think of to honor you and make you proud of me.
Your Loving "Son",
Ben
