Mug Shots
... and a little more about me, "Smokey"

I never liked gates, even as a pup. Yes, I could see through them, but there was so much fun happening on the other side that I just HAD to climb over, or chew through them. Whatever it took, I needed to be with my pack! As a result, I earned my EA (Escape Artist) title before I was 12 weeks old. My EAX came later, when I learned to yank really hard on the tie-out chain & climb the fence (but more on that later).

Old Squire, mom & dad's first dog, really tried hard to keep me in line and teach me about being a law-abiding, grateful dog, but I guess I was just too young to appreciate his advice... it was lots more fun to try to get the frisbee away from him (it didn't hurt my self-esteem that he usually let me win!) I wish he were still here to play with He was the best mentor a dog could ever wish for.

The one thing that really bugged me as a pup (and it still does, even now) is Mom & Dad's obsession with FENCES! When I was little, I learned to go over a four-foot picket fence - no sweat!, so they topped that with a foot of chicken-wire - no sweat!! But I never did manage to figure out how to get over this one - six feet high, with the "good" side in, so I couldn't even climb it (which I'd have been happy to do!) They say they build 'em to keep me safe... I think they just want to spoil my fun!
