This is Tori's Story:
At 3 months old, Tori fell out of my third story window.
He landed on his back legs, and his leg bones broke out of the
hip sockets. He knew he lived in the building, so he climbed up the
first flight of stairs, jumped through an open window, and beat up a full grown german sheperd(sp?). All this with two broken legs!!!
Tanya (my wife) came home from school and the neighbours had Tori in
a basket. Tanya called my best buddy Clint, and he came over and
brought them to the vet. I was at work, and when I got back to the office, I called Tanya and she told me what had happened.
So the vet convinced us to go ahead with the operation to fix his
legs, which was a big mistake. It cost us $700 for the operation, plus all other associated costs like x-rays and food and what-not.
After that, when we finally took him home, he didn't want to walk at
all. He would crawl to the cat litter and crawl back to his blanket.
That's when we got Jessie. Jessie got him up and moving, and they
became the best of friends. Jessie got severe epilepsy after a year,
and we had to put her down. She was having at least 12 "grand mals"
a day that we saw. A year later, Tori had untreatable urinary tract infections. The new vet concluded that Tori had some form of cancer, and that's when we finally put the poor thing to rest.
