Choosing a Cat..

If you're thinking about buying/adopting a feline to add to your family, there are
several things to consider. I've broken it down into a few categories to help you
decide if a cat is right for you...and what kind to get.

Animal Shelter or Breeder:
Do you want a purebred cat, or will you suffice with saving a little furrface from the pound or shelter? The obvious advantages of purchasing a feline through a Breeder is getting a purebred cat. This gives you the option to show them, know what their full grown size will be, know more about temperment, hair length..etc.. Adoption from an animal Shelter brings about many wonderful rewards. You and your family are saving a life! You will cut down on costs because policy at most shelters is low cost for adoption, with the added incentive of free first vet visit, shots, & spay or neuter. Please, consider adoption as the best alternative!!

Cat or Kitten:
Now that you've decide to adopt or purchase a feline for your family, you've got a tough decision ahead...Cat or Kitten?Kittens are a lot of work. Think of all the "potty" training, The sleepless nights while he/she runs crazily through the house, climbing the drapes, climbing the couch, climbing EVERYTHING! The vet bills climbing higher & higher when she needs her 1st, 2nd, 3rd shots, not to mention spaying. Now, think about those sweet kitten purrs, listening to the way her "Meow" changes are she gets older, the fun of teaching her tricks, the sweet kitten cuddle time, the ability to have her grow up as part of the family. And what about a full grown Cat (1 year or older)? The bad things? Well there aren't many, but... He or She will come ready made with a background full of stuff which could include being treated poorly, underfed, overfed. She/He could have bad habits, never been trained, medical issues. Then there are all the wonderful things..ie..YAY! She already knows how to use the litter box! Past the, I need lots and lots of vet visits, stage. She/He has been spayed or neutered, doesn't need constant supervision, isn't climbing all over your head at night while you sleep. Either way, Im sure you'll love your furrkid, no matter what the age!
