The Feral Cat Issue

What is a feral cat?

A feral cat is the offspring of domesticated felines.
These cats, considered 'wild,' are homeless & un-spayed
or un-neutered, resulting in what we usually call feral
cat colonies.

What are people doing to stop this?

Places like The Feral Cat Coalition are a big part
of reducing the number of feral cats by starting programs
like Trap-Neuter/Spay-Release. Researchers are coming
up with new and improved methods, such as
The Feral Cat Contraceptive, a version of the Pill.
And SPAY USA has an 800 number you can call for inexpensive
spay or neuter, if you cannot afford to pay for it yourself.
Call 1-800-248-SPAY, and they will send you a coupon.

What can I do?

Spay or Neuter your pet! Not only will they be healthier
but you will be considerably helping to reduce the number
or feral cats. Also, consider making a donation to your
local humane society or The Feral Cat Coalition, or simply
donate your time as a volunteer!
