Peter Crowell (1740)

Peter Croul immigrated to Philadelphia on the ship "Loyal Judith" from Rotterdam in 1740. Although he immigrated from Germany, his nationality is not certain. His will is written in Dutch. The family settled in North Carolina. This family has been extensively researched with two excellent volumes about the early family genealogy by Judith Jo Wakeman and by Kate Crowell Reese.

Henry served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War and walked back to Texas from Raleigh, North Carolina, after the South's surrender.
