John Kimbrough,
Sr.
John Kimbrough came from the British Isles in 1666,
accompanied by his wife Mary Douglas and their children with Capt.
Miles Cook of London. They landed in Port Tobacco, MD. He lived in
St. Marie's (St. Mary's), the seat of government of the Colony of
Maryland and is found later in New Kent, Virginia in 1676 where he
filed for a pension. John Kimbrough gave land and materials for the
construction of St. Paul Church in New Kent County, Virginia.
