"Lord, I'm Afraid" "Lord, I'm Brokenhearted" "Lord, There Is No Hope" "Lord, I'm Depressed" "Lord, I'm Under Satan's Attack" "Lord, Help Me Hang On" Talk to God and tell Him how you feel right now. Be honest. You cannot surprise Him because He already knows all about you. He's just waiting for you to respond to him....to have a relationship with him. After talking to him, listen. He will respond. Not audibly, but in your heart. Another way He speaks to us is through His word, the Bible. It tells us how much He really loves us, what He wants for us and what he promises to do for us. When you read the Bible it will give you vast insight to the loving and forgiving nature of God. When we are afraid or live in fear, God's Word tells us:
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, nor be dismayed for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9)
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)
For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. (Isaiah 41:13)
When we are brokenhearted, God's Word tells us:
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. A righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all. (Psalm 34:18-22)
Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall. (Psalm 55:22)
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion – to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. When we feel that we have absolutely no hope left; when we are desparate and say, "I just can't go any further"; when we are without a purpose in life; and even if we say, "I don't want to go on living anymore", God's Word tells us:
"For I know the plans I have for you" declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you." (Jeremiah 29:11-13)
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

Depression debilitates us emotionally and physically. It is bondage and we are the unwilling captives. The Lord desires to free us from those chains. His Word says:
I, the Lord, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles, to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness. (Isaiah 42:6-7)
We are constantly under spiritual attack, but Jesus Christ gives us victory over that evil. God's Word says:
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. (1 John 4:4)
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done every thing, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Sometimes it is just plain difficult to hang on with all we have to deal with. Let the Lord's strength be yours. The Bible says:
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)
I can do everything through him who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:13)
And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)
You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For in just a very little while, "He who is coming will come and will not delay. But my righteous one will live by faith. And if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him." But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved. (Hebrews 10:36-39)
Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. (James 1:12)
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:6-7)
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)
