     DAYTOP-NJ is a residential and outpatient Adolescent Substance Abuse Program giving hope to the community and restoring peace to families.
         
        
                         

Daytop is a behavior based substance abuse treatment program which has traditionally used two modalities: residential and day care ("outpatient"). The philosophy of treatment is the same for both modalities.


The Daytop, New Jersey philosophy of treatment recognizes that adolescent substance abuse is an attitude and behavioral disorder. It is progressive and potentially life threatening. It affects not only the life of the individual adolescent but all of his/her relationships.

We are committed to the care of all clients regardless of the specific substance abuse problem through the integration of mental and medical health concepts within the framework of the therapeutic community.

In order to maximize client welfare, we attempt to realize the greatest good possible in developing a well coordinated multi-displinary supportive service.

The program design utilizes five categories of distinct yet overlapping activities:

           1.     BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT

           2.     EMOTIONAL/PSYCHOLOGICAL

           3.     INTELLECTUAL/SPIRITUAL

           4.     VOCATIONAL/SURVIVAL SKILLS

           5.     PHYSICAL/MEDICAL


These five categories are integral to the Daytop program.
