I Am Thankful
Vol. 2, No. 23 (November 20, 1999)
I am thankful for my children and their children who fill my life beyond
anything I ever expected to find on this earth.
I am thankful for Lana who was and will always be the angel in my life. From
her I learned the value of giving and getting unconditional love.
I am thankful for Lana's children who are my living link with the goodness of
her heart.
I am thankful for my friends, for the laughter, for the tears, for the
struggles we have shared. From them I have learned that the love in a human
heart is the only thing that matters in this life and the only thing we will
take into the next life with us.
I am thankful for my friend, Judi. It was her friendship, support and
exceptional editorial skills that helped start Saturday Ramblins, giving
it the shape, direction and focus. I am thankful that she had the
patience and love to take a hack writer and lead him to the better writer in
himself.
I am thankful for my friend Denise and her family. Though we've only known each
other on line, I've come to know her, her husband Claude and their children
Coco and Linnie as well as if they were next-door neighbors. I am thankful
we've been able to share the ups and downs of family life, raising kids,
keeping body and soul together while never losing our faith in the God who
sustains us all.
I'm thankful for my friend "S.T." who taught me - even if for a brief
time - that life goes on.
I am thankful for my friend Joanie who reminds me that a smile and laughter are
the delight of the human heart.
I am thankful for those who do not love me for through them God teaches me
tolerance and love.
I am thankful for Angel Friends (three years old this week!), for through it
God has given me the opportunity to be of some service to others.
I am thankful for the hundreds of Angel Friends who have shared a bit of their
lives with me - their triumphs, their sorrows, their joys - and have taught me
the strength and nobility of the human heart.
I am thankful to God for all of the above and for reminding me even in my
darkest hours, there is a wealth in my life beyond gold and diamonds.
That's part of my list. Now it's your turn. Write your list and share it with
your family and loved ones next Thursday when you ask the blessing for your
Thanksgiving meal.
