I was born in San Antonio, Texas on January 10, 1945. I hold a B.A. in Communication & Theater from the University of New Orleans and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Communication Studies from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Having raised three daughters as a single parent I am now blessed with two grandchildren from my oldest.

I taught in the university for many years including Westfield State College (Massachusetts), the University of Minnesota, Duluth Campus, the University of Wisconsin/Whitewater, and Mississippi State University.

I currently work for a company which is one of the largest providers of death care services in the country. My responsibility is to develop and maintain a company-wide training program and produce training materials in all media.

I reside in New Orleans, the home of my father's family. It should be obvious I am proud of my Irish and Catholic heritage.
