The History
Of Bichon Frises
Bichon Frises are basically a cross between mostly Maltaises
and a little bit from Poodles. They supposedly were found on an
island by French Sailors. They became very popular pets for the
sailors, and were also groomed and sold for Barter to French
royalty. After the French revolution, they ended up running the
streets of Italy, where only the toughest survived. After a
while, the started to become pets and later they became very
popular. They even performed in circuses (and I can't even get
Sammy to shake). Their popularity has continued to rise,
and they were admitted to the American Kennel Club on October,
1972, and to regular show classification in the Non-Sporting
Group at AKC shows April 4, 1973.
