The Story of Sammy

My mom has had allergies since I was born, so we were never able to get a dog, or a cat, or any other kind of animal except for fish and lizards. We had been searching for a non-allergic dog for a long time, but all we could find was a huge shaved looking dog with no fur. Then, when I was about 10 years old, we found out about a dog named a bichon frise, which was supposedly a non-allergic dog. My mom wasn't so sure about it, but she was willing to go over and see. We found out about a bichon frise who just had puppies down in Springfield, Illinois, down where my grandparents and my cousins live. My mom went over to see if she had any allergic reaction or any trouble allergicly with the bichons. She found nothing wrong with the Bichons and decided to get one. Then we had to decide which one to pick, there were two puppies left, a boy and a girl. I new which one was the right one to get, the girl, but the rest of my family wasn't so sure. Eventually we all decided to get the girl. Then we had to name her. No one had any idea of what to name her, but I thought of an idea of a character from the show ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK. Her name in the show was Samantha ( she is really a girl ), but every one called her Sam. Everyone liked the name, and that's what we decided to call our new pup. From then on, her name was Samantha, but we called her everything from Sam to Sammy to Samdog etc. When she finally got to our house my mom had no problem with Sammy on the basis of her allergies. Sammy turned out to be the most playful dog around, and the most energetic. She is never shy, and she goes up to meet everyone she sees. She became so popular around our block and neighborhood, that whenever she was around, you can hear everyone yell out, it's SAMMY!

Here's me as a puppy. Wasn't I cute!
