And who could forget when you got shot.  It took you a week to get home.  You lost so much weight, your eyes were sunk in and your wounds were crawling with maggots.  You were unrecognizable Hesky.  You could hardly stand up, but you still greeted me with your wolf etiquete, the wagging tail, and licking of my face.  I brought you in the garage and got the vet over here.  You did not like that.  I had to give you a sedative so the vet could get in the garage.  I don't know how you pulled through that one Hesky but your strong will and with the help of the Lord you did it.  Remeber you didn't want to spend the night alone so I slept next to you with my arm around you all night.  What I didn't know was you hallucinated from the shot I gave you and I woke up in the morning with you standing over me snarling and growling in my face.

I loved you then.

Hesky I see you on your hill proud and confident.  Always protecting and looking out for your family which you always stood up for.  I know all wolves are very family oriented but until you came in our lives I never knew how much.  I never told you but I was proud of how you wouldn't let anyone touch me and how when Linda, Fawn and I went for walks you always had to keep us together.  You would get upset if we went separate ways.

I loved you then.

I know  you came to a point in your life where you got jealous of Linda and when Fawn got married you were jealous of Cliff, but they never stopped loving you and in your way I know you loved them.  I always liked the way you loved and respected little kids.  you could be so gentle.  I liked when we played together and you all of sudden thought you should have a back rub and you would sit in my lap with your back to me.  I wish I could give you one now.

I loved you then.
