MANDARIN TOSSED SALAD

4 c torn green leaf lettuce	
2 tbs sugar
½ c sliced celery	
2 tbs tarragon wine vinegar
½ c chopped green onions	
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp hot sauce	2 tbs chopped fresh parsley
1 (11oz) can mandarin oranges, drained	
¼ cup vegetable oil	
1/8 tsp pepper
¼ cup slivered almonds, toasted

Combine first 5 ingredients; toss gently.  Cover and chill.  Combine 
oil and next 5 ingredients in a jar.  Cover tightly, and shake vigorously.  
Pour dressing over lettuce mixture, and toss gently.  Sprinkle with 
almonds.  Serve immediately.  (Brenda says:  I only use 1/2-3/4 of the
dressing).
