POOR MAN’S BRIE
1 (4oz) pkg refrigerated crescent rolls
1 (8oz) pkg cream cheese
1 tbs basil
garlic powder (tons)
1 egg yolk, beaten
Unroll the crescent rolls onto lightly floured surface. Press seams
together to form rectangle. Sprinkle with half the basil and garlic
powder. Place cream cheese into center of dough, pressing remaining
basil and garlic powder into cream cheese. Enclose cream cheese in
dough by bringing sides together and pressing edges to seal. Place
on lightly greased baking sheet, brush with egg yolk. Bake at 350º
for 15-18 minutes or until lightly browned and cream cheese is just
peeking through. Serve with a "sturdy" cracker like Triscuits or
apple wedges. Very good and simple.
