Hi! Welcome to my homepage!

While you're here, you may aswell get the facts about me right :)

I was born January 10th 1977 in Newmarket General Hospital, England, at the unearthly hour of 3.34am. I've been an early bird ever since! I'm your worst nightmare to go on holiday with, believe me!! (Getting better though!)

I was born and bred in the fens, near Mildenhall in Suffolk (-east of England), and think the fenland countryside is the best thing since sliced bread! :) Learn about my local area.

I'm a Christian, so a lot of my life is related to my beliefs. During May 2005, a group of 14 from my church went to visit our 'sister church' in Romania to help them out with practical things they need. We paid for the Trandafir family to come to England for a return trip in May 2007 and a small group of us are currently planning to return to Romania in May 2008.

In July 1999 I graduated from Newman College, Birmingham. It was because of Newman that I had the chance to get this homepage up and running!!! My degree was in education studies, for which I got a 2:1 (or 'B' grade if you don't understand!) with honours. I worked as Assistant Warden at St. Mark's College, near Saffron Walden from October 1999 - August 2002, then was secretary / administrator of Earthsea House from the end of December 2002 to the beginning of January 2004 when I started work with the Visiting Teacher Service in Norfolk. I had yet another career change on return from Romania, when I started work with IHAG (Ipswich Housing Action Group) in the Money Advice Service.

You want the boring bit?? Bit of background for you!! Learn about my Family and Pets :)

All of us have a past, whether we like it or not. Sometimes our first memories are of school - the teachers we had and our first friends. We gain different tastes in music and sport, mainly through the influence of those we grow up around. Different talents emerge within us, and we develop different interests over time. One such 'interest' which I acquired while at Uni, was IRC. If it wasn't for IRC, I'd probably still not have gone abroad!! However, through the friends I have gained there, I've gone to Texas and Indiana, Pennsylvania and Mississippi, Dublin, The Netherlands... and even had an Australian visit me! (Please note : I was over 21 during all such trips, had always known the person(s) I was staying with over a year, and ALWAYS had a back-up plan in case things went wrong!). My most recent trip to America was to Rhode Island and Arizona, which was only partly forged through IRC connections, but still routed in the internet. I've also been to Sligo in Ireland where I met up with another friend found on the Internet. In addition, through such connections and friends made at Uni, I've also had the opportunity for a mini-tour of England, and somewhat softened towards London :) Unfortunately, it's sometimes harder to visit those who live nearest to you, and there is one friend I'll never meet...

I made my first trip which didn't really relate to anyone (although I met up with some people while there!) when I went to Scotland on my own. What an amazing place! I have also been on a virtually-non-web-related trip round the South of England which was good fun and more recently discovered the South-East and South-West! I have also been to Copenhagen and Amsterdam and my most recent trip abroad was when I discovered Italy.

I had some interesting summer jobs before graduation. Other things you may like to know about me include my philosophy of life and trips to La La Land. Then again, maybe not! So what about my 21st party, my 'changing face', or the more serious subjects in my life such as romance, 'my children' or the curse of Hypermobility. A friend did once tell me there's too much of me here, but I wouldn't want you to feel I'm trying to hide something!

If there's anything else you wish to know, or you want to send me a constructive comment, please do so. (Note : I'm not very good at updating this, but I will try my best!! Please tell me if my links in particular need updating.)

I do indeed have a guestbook!!
