The Kleines: Two grownups, four kids, two dogs, a kitty cat, a bunny, a minivan, a Mazda, a power Mac and a PC, which we don't know how to use :)
The grownups work nonstop, except when we're on the computer, and the kids play nonstop, especially when the grownups are on the computer. We are newspaper people ... ink is in our blood. Jane works in the newsroom of the SportsBusiness Journal, and is consumed by all things news: politics, sports, local news, editorial comment, entertainment. Stan is editor/producer of Knight Ridder's NASCAR Web site where cars and drivers go round and round and round, to no good purpose, except to make money of course.
Stan is a sports dude, especially baseball, specifically the Cincinnati Reds (bad year, we know). Jane is a wife first, mommy second and journalist third. She's a David Cassidy fan from way back, and she loves all kinds of retro stuff, mostly '60s and '70s, and particularly music from that time.
We BOTH have opinions, and we don't hesitate to express them. But we do try to be open-minded, at least we try to be open to ideas before we totally reject them.
We are madly in love (does it show? You know, four kids and all) and we're best friends to boot.
The four children hate each other, mostly. But we figure that's normal. They're bright and fun and healthy. We can't ask for more.
Despite being in Charlotte, NC, we are amused by banking issues, especially those concerning Hugh McColl, and by our pro teams, the Hornets (mostly George Shinn) and Panthers. We are also anti-Jesse Helms, pro-gay rights, pro-choice, anti-fundamentalist, anti-Christian "wrong" (as opposed to Christian right), sacrilegious even, irreverent, and above all, we value a sense of honor, a sense of right and wrong, and a sense of humor!Advantages: Because we are in Charlotte, we are, among other things, pro-tobacco, pro-basketball (Go Heels), pro-UNC Chapel Hill, pro-FUN, pro-live-and-let-live, and pro-clean living.
If you're interested in any of this, read on. If not, go directly to another Web site. Otherwise you'll be totally bored by middle-America. Or you might even get pissed off.
If you ARE interested ... keep going! You might find something fun here. Who knows!
