Mark JonesMy name is Mark Jones.  I was born at Mount Carmel Hospital, Seven Hills, Sydney on 21 October 1968.  I came to live in the UK in 1972 and have lived in either Rochester or Chatham at various times.  I attended Troy Town Infant School, then St Peter's and St Margaret's Junior School, followed by Highfield Secondary School.  Stangely, all the schools that I have attended have now been closed and demolished.

After leaving school, I worked for a short time at a motor parts/accessory store called Halfords in Gillingham High Street (this has now been closed).  I then worked for two and a half years at the Halifax Building Society also in Gillingham High Street (also now closed).  Since June 1988 I have worked for the Corporation of Lloyd's at their Chatham Headquarters (fortunately, still there) where I'm currently employed as a LAN Support Analyst.

Our House in ChathamI was married in 1990 to Donna and we have two lovely daughters, Bronwyn and Rhiannon.  They can be quite a handful and they love to fight.

My main hobbies are messing about with my computer and fishing.  I hold a current PCV (bus) licence, but haven't been driving on a regular basis since March 1997.  The fact that the house keeps falling apart around our ears means I have to do quite a bit of DIY, but I don't call this a hobby because I don't enjoy it and I'm no good at it.  I suppose that's what you get buying a house over 100 years old.

I have produced these pages because I enjoy creating and publishing on the web.  I enjoy visiting peoples home pages and reading about their lives, so I guess there is a market for content of this kind.  I also noticed one day that if you searched in Yahoo! for Chatham Kent my page was the first to be listed (this may have changed by now) and I received a number of e-mails from people wanting to know more about Chatham.  This lead to the creation of http://travel.to/medway which, although biased towards the City of Rochester, is about the Medway Towns.
