From Roy Aber, 11/30/1998: "Elihu had a apple orchard and had barrels in the ground for cider. Grand mother (Lillie Pinkerton) would get a straw and drink from them. She said the water was real clear and you could reach down and pick up the duck eggs.
Can you identify the people in this photo? Marilou and I think it possibly could be Louvisa Noland Pembroke and Clarissa Pembroke. She found them in her Pembroke photos. Thanks Marilou for sharing your photos!

Obituary: Portland Oregonian, May 5, 1901: "Killed While Felling a Tree., Oregon City, May 4. - Thomas C. Pembroke, aged 60, was struck by a limb and almost instantly killed while felling a tree near Canby yesterday evening. He was a veteran of the Civil War, a native of Illinois, and had lived near Canby since 1883. The deceased left three children."
Possibly May Pembroke, daughter of Thomas C. Pembroke. May married William Smith. Not sure who the gentleman is... possibly William Smith.
