Welcome
to This Site (Last updated May-2004)
On the behalf of the webmasters of this website, I would like
to welcome anyone interested in the subject of Infantilism to
this Internet Resource Site concerning the phenomenon of Infantilism.
This site was first began by an infantilist in 1997 with the hope of helping
to separate fact from fiction in the then little discussed phenomenon
of Infantilism. Thanks to both the efforts and assistance
of the many contributors to this site, as well as to the new
interconnectivity that the Internet provides, this site has since
grown from the lone efforts of a single isolated individual to
the combined efforts of many.
Due to the extremely high level of ignorance within the mental
health community about the phenomenon of Infantilism, this site
hopes to counteract this shortcoming, and to act as a general
point of knowledge and information about the phenomenon. Conclusions
made to date by the webmasters of this site regarding this phenomenon
include:
- Infantilism in and of itself is usually best considered as
a harmless sexual variation from the norm, rather than as a form
of mental disorder or pathology which must either be somehow
forcibly stopped, or otherwise proscribed and censured.
- As with all such behaviors, Infantilism when aggravated by
the additional presence of various maladaptive types of behaviors
such as certain types of promiscuity, or other types of excesses
which may interfere with the social function of the individual
can indeed become a self-destructive form of behavior, and when
such cases arise, those who suffer from such aggravated circumstances
ought to be counseled and directed towards moderation.
- Under most circumstances, the best method of working with
the phenomenon of Infantilism in one's own life, or in the life
of one's loved one, is to seek out a reasonable means of adapting
and compromising (on both sides) to the circumstance, rather
than attempting to somehow root out the behavior. This
behavior pattern has been found to have extremely deep subconscious
roots, and is often closely intertwined with the individual's
very identity of his or her subconscious core. As such,
it has most often been found that attempts to merely reasonably
accomodate and integrate the phenomenon into other more common
types of adult life activities, rather than attempting to somehow
forcibly entirely eliminate the behavior, have most often met
with success. One type of compromise that most infantilists
have found themselves able to accomplish is the limitation of
the practice to within the home or within the bedroom. Other
attempts at further limiting the behavior beyond this have most
often met with distress and failure.
- The roots of Infantilism lie deep in the subconscious mind
and are most often not easily understood or successfully dealt
with without first gaining a deeper understanding and appreciation
for this realm, deeper than those understandings that most modern
day psycho-therapy theories and methodologies commonly ascribe
to.
The line that can be drawn between a harmless sexual variation
and a maladaptive sexual pathology may become somewhat blurred
while studying the phenomenon of Infantilism. As the webmasters
of this site, it is our aim to hopefully arrive at a greater
clarity regarding the delineation of this certain line that separates
the acceptable from the unacceptable, both for ourselves, and
also for anyone else who may want to review or contribute to
this site in any way.
The
Philosophy of This Site
Unfortunately this site is the only Infantilist website on the
Internet that we are aware of, that is operated by Infantilists,
which is based on the philosophy that Infantilism should not
to be allowed to rule in one's life totally, without any
type of restraint or question. We believe that like an
untamed genie, Infantilism has the potential either for harm
in one's life, or for good. If you should happen to find
any other similar Infantilist Internet Sites that follow the
same philosophy as this website, please email
us so we can add links to these pages on the Links
& Contacts Page.
Again, on the behalf of the webmasters of this site, as well
as on the behalf of all of the many others who have contributed
to this site, I welcome you and wish you luck in your explorations
regarding the phenomenon of Infantilism.

Sincerely,
Scott P.
