Dear Friends, 10-11 GOD’S CHARACTER AND PROMISES!

There was a song, if you knew Susie, like I know Susie, oh oh oh. Well, knowing God is the reason I’m living. The greatest thing in all my life is knowing God. How do we know God? By faith we accept what the Bible says about Him. There are several names of God that I’m aware of, although I’m sure that I don’t know all of them. But the names tell us of His character.

God is Jehovah Jirah, our provider.

Php 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

When the Hebrew people left Egypt God provided for all their needs. Manna to eat, and water when needed. God even gave them meat when they asked for it. Even their clothes did not wear out.

De 8:4 Thy raiment waxed not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty years.

Ne 9:21 Yea, forty years didst thou sustain them in the wilderness, so that they lacked nothing; their clothes waxed not old, and their feet swelled not.

God knows what you need and if you put your trust in Him,

He will supply what you need as He promises.

Mt 6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

Mt 6:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

Lu 12:30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.

You have only to read the Bible to see how God provided for His people. And if you are saved, you belong to Him. Another aspect for us as to how He takes care of us is the Good Shepherd. Sheep are pretty dumb and they need to be cared for in every aspect. That is what God calls us, sheep. And He does look after us in every aspect of our lives. This is promised to those who put their trust in Him. These days are full of the unknown and uncertainties. But with God, we don’t have to be scared, we can have perfect peace merely by trusting Him.

Isa 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

God knows we belong to Him. He sent His son to be the sacrifice for our sins. Jesus’ blood was the price He paid to buy us back or redeem us. Jesus paid it all because God loved us, while we were yet sinners.

Ro 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

God is also the commander in chief of the army that fights the spiritual forces which come against us. He goes before us into battle as our banner.

1Sa 17:47 And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD'S, and he will give you into our hands.

2Ch 20:15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.

Please keep me in prayer for I’ve been undergoing a severe attack for a long. I need you to hold up my hands, as Moses’ hands were held up in the battle.

Ex 17:12 But Moses' hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.

We need to pray for one another, as I pray for you. We are in the battle of and for our lives as Satan comes against us in these last hours of God’s timetable. This helps us all to learn to depend upon God. This is what God wants, us unified, helping one another, fervent in prayer.

Jas 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

We all need that healing, that comes from being concerned for one another. God is fighting against our enemies, yet still He asks us to intercede for one another.

Eze 22:30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

Jesus is interceding for us, but still He says pray for one another. I ask your prayers for me. My desire is to serve God, and the enemy wants to stop me.

I am not important, but doing God’s will is and I felt to ask for prayer as I was doing this devotional. I seldom do that but I need it now. God has a plan and I’ve found the most temptation, and thoughts of discouragement. My hope is in God, and I believe that He will make things beautiful in His time. I’ve said many times that I love all of you and desire to encourage you, helping you to cope with these difficult times, the end times when the devil is working overtime, knowing his time is short. God loves you, us all so much more than we can ever understand and that’s why I feel lead to bring this series to you. Jesus told us this:

Joh 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

God will never leave us nor forsake us but we may feel like He has. We must stand on faith, not on feelings.

Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

2Co 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

I will close with this encouraging verse and continue next time:

Isa 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
